At the AIS25 Summit, a major new collaboration was announced between:
- DTU and the Pioneer Center for Accelerating P2X Materials Discovery (CAPeX), led by Tejs Vegge
- CuspAI, a UK-based start-up pioneering generative AI for materials design, represented by Max Welling
- Topsoe, a global leader in catalyst production, represented by Sune Ebbesen
The Goal
The partnership aims to accelerate the discovery and development of advanced catalysts for electrochemical production of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (eSAF). By combining AI-driven materials design, high-performance computing, and industrial expertise, the project will target more efficient catalysts and materials for electrified SAF production—critical for decarbonizing aviation.
Why it matters
Sustainable Aviation Fuels are essential for reducing emissions in the aviation sector.
AI can dramatically shorten the time from concept to catalyst deployment, enabling faster innovation cycles.
This collaboration bridges academic research, AI innovation, and industrial scale-up, strengthening Denmark and Europe’s leadership in green technologies.
